Going it Alone Is Just Fine for Jeffrey Traugot
Jeffrey Traugot says he never feels alone, even as an independent contractor, noting, “I have built invaluable relationships with many advisors and the thing I love about our industry is that it is very collaborative.”
Jeffrey Traugot, a luxury travel advisor in Manhattan who has been in the travel industry for 26 years, just booked his own Jamaican getaway for November.
“I believe people should purchase flights now if they plan on traveling. I just purchased tickets for Jamaica for travel in November because the price is good,” he told Insider, adding that prices fluctuate. Traugot says it’s worth jumping on cheap fares as they might not stay that way.
“If there is somewhere you are planning on traveling to and the price is good now, I suggest purchasing the ticket,” Traugot said.
Cheaper flights and flexible cancellation fees might be here for a while. Here’s what air travel may look after the pandemic.
A third of the world’s population is under lockdown, and a whopping 93% of people live in countries with coronavirus travel bans.
Not surprisingly, the TSA estimates that air passenger volume is down 90% from this time last year….
DG Amazing Experiences – Inside Four Seasons Lanai’s Alii Royal Suite
Earlier this year, before it opened, we gave you an insider preview of the top suites at Four Seasons Resort Lanai, so we were interested to catch up with luxury travel advisor Jeff Traugot of Traugot Travel who just returned from a site inspection. While we try not use too many superlatives in these reports, Traugot calls the 3,894 sq.ft. Alii Royal Suite “spectacular.”…
Agents Speak Out, Divided On Marriott’s New Approach To Selling Luxury
Marriott International’s decision to create a single sales force to represent its eight luxury brands, mixing JW Marriott, W Hotels and Autograph Collection with Luxury Collection, St. Regis, Ritz-Carlton/Ritz-Carlton Reserve, Bulgari and EDITION, is drawing a mixed reaction from travel agents…
These countries are too damn crowded
Iceland was once known as a cheap, off-the-beaten-path getaway for Americans. Now it’s overrun by tourists. So far in 2016, the Land of Fire and Ice has welcomed more than 325,000 US tourists…
About Me
I am a well-traveled native New Yorker.
For over the past 20 years, I have spent my professional career building and strengthening my relationships with hotel and other travel professionals to make sure you have the best experience from the time your vacation begins to great memories well after it ends.
My goal is to exceed my clients’ expectations. I personally enjoy adventure travel, exploring interesting cities and unwinding on the beach.
Having now traveled with children for over ten years, I feel confident recommending destinations both in the US and abroad to my clients that suit their level of comfort and high standards, while being family-friendly.
Some of my most memorable adventure trips have included diving off the Great Barrier Reef, running into fascinating nocturnal animals on the roads of Tasmania, zip-lining in Costa Rica, exploring the Galapagos Islands, coming face to face with the Big Five on safari in South Africa, going elephant trekking in northern Thailand, taking in the scenic beauty of the Norwegian fjords and “glamping” in a remote area of Vancouver Island.
I have recently started to experience some of my favorite urban destinations with my children, and I now appreciate these places in a whole different way. I am particularly drawn to Jerusalem, Paris, London and Prague.
When needing to recharge, I head to the Caribbean. I cannot wait to return to St. Barths, Anguilla, Turks & Caicos, Grand Cayman, Antigua, Barbados, Virgin Islands and many other favorites.
Traveling with Kids
“Exposing children to different cultures and having them experience different smells, surroundings, foods can only benefit them. Besides making sure passports are up to date and any necessary visas and shots are taken care of, I would suggest knowing your children’s (and your) limits as far as how far they can walk, deal with time differences, and what type of food is available. One or two activities should be planned per day, and there should be some time open for spontaneous activity. Also consider picking a property with a pool and have drinking water and snacks available.”
